Fatal Jersey City Light Rail Stabbing: Killer Learns Fate, Prosecutor Says

A 40-year-old Jersey City man was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Friday, Feb. 21 for fatally stabbing a man at a Jersey City light rail station in 2022, authorities said.

On Friday, January 28 11:37 p.m., police responded to the Danforth Avenue Light Rail Station and found Kenneth Brown, a 49-year-old Jersey City resident, with a stab wound to his upper body, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, Suarez said.

Anthony Bell was arrested for the stabbing the next day and originally charged with murder, Suarez said. He pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter last September, Suarez said.
